Students frequently tell us that they use the 106 computers in the Library and Library Computer Lab because of the quiet environment.
In fact, whenever we survey students, they tell us to continue to monitor the noise level and reduce the interruptions from cell phones and group conversations.
So, if you are looking for a quiet place to study, come to our labs. Let us know if someone is making too much noise, and we will work with them to resolve the problem so you can concentrate.
We also offer tablet PCs that can be checked out and used in our private study rooms. Because we know that sometimes you just need a quiet space in order to do your best studying.
Simon Yang and Don Whitson are the lab aides in the Library’s Computer Lab.
They are in the lab from 7:00 am until 9:45 pm Monday – Thursday and 7:00 am until 3:00 pm on Friday (taking turns, of course). Vince Kehl is in the lab on Saturdays.
If you have any questions, please feel free to flag them down or walk to the lab aide desk and ask them.

NWTC’s Library Home Page underwent some surgery during the break. The new and improved page includes more functionality (such as):
The ability to QuickSearch the Library Catalog,
WorldCat searching to find items in your nearest library (including NWTC),
All databases, ebooks, and online practice tests in one menu,
E-Journal searching right on the home page,
A tag cloud of useful web sites chosen by the Library staff.
The page also includes new links to the Program and Library guides, the Library News Blog, and the Common Questions guide.
Take a look and let us know what you think. The staff will be taking ideas for a major redesign of the site when the NWTC main site changes.
Reminder: The Library has reduced hours during the Winter Break.
The Library will be closed December 22th, 24th, 25th, 29th, 31st, and January 1st.
The Library Hours for December 21st, 26th, 27th, and 28th will be from 7:00 am until 4:30 pm. Normal hours will resume on January 2.
